Driver terms and conditions

These terms apply when you use I Need A Van Man to find and complete removal work.

By using the ineedavanman.com website (“the Site”), you (“Driver”) agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. Your use of the Site constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

I Need A Van Man (“INAVM”, “we”, “us”, “our”) reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on the Site promptly. We encourage you to review the latest information regularly.

Definitions

I Need A Van Man, INAVM, our, us, we
The online platform that connects Drivers with Customers for the provision of Transport Services.
You, your, Driver
An individual who provides Transport Services using our platform.
Customer
An individual who requests the provision of Transport Services primarily for personal use and not for commercial purposes.
Instant Quote
The immediate price estimate provided by I Need A Van Man for a specific job, based on the details provided by the Customer and the parameters set by I Need A Van Man. The Instant Quote is fixed and non-negotiable. Acceptance of a job by a Driver implies agreement to undertake the Transport Services for the price specified in the Instant Quote.
Booking
A Customer’s request for Transport Services that a Driver agrees to provide.
Booking Services
The use of our Site and booking technologies to connect Drivers with Customers and enable the provision of Transport Services.
Transport Services
The service provided by a Driver to transport a Customer’s goods by road.
Job Sheet
A detailed job description that includes the collection time, whether an additional helper is needed, and the list of items that the Customer has paid to transport.

Driver obligations

Conduct

Conduct yourself professionally, and offer friendly and helpful service that satisfies our Customers.

Responsibilities

  1. Follow the Job Sheet instructions, including adherence to the collection time window, ascertaining if additional help is needed, and transporting all listed items. Non-compliance with the Job Sheet may result in deductions from your payout or forfeiture of your fee.
  2. Ensure the safe and correct carriage, unloading and loading of all items, using appropriate equipment as needed to prevent injury or damage.

Qualifications

  1. Hold a valid driving licence.
  2. Maintain commercial van insurance that covers carriage of goods for hire and reward.
  3. Maintain Goods in Transit insurance with at least £10,000 cover.
  4. Provide two recent utility bills showing your name and address for verification.
  5. Public Liability insurance is optional, but recommended.
  6. Ensure your vehicle is legally roadworthy.
  7. If you accept a Booking that includes passengers, including any option described as “Ride as Passenger”, you warrant that you hold all licences and permissions required to carry passengers for hire or reward in your licensing area, and that you maintain valid hire-or-reward motor insurance that expressly covers the carriage of passengers. You must not accept or perform such a Booking unless this cover is in place.

Clear document images or original insurer PDFs work best during verification.

Payment

Bank transfers are typically made the same or next day after completion. A payment may take longer if a job needs to be investigated.

Performance evaluation

Driver performance is assessed based on Customer feedback. We allocate job opportunities based on performance evaluations to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Dispute resolution

INAVM serves as a mediator between the Customer and Driver in the event of a dispute. However, we bear no responsibility for any disputes or damages that occur during a Booking.

Liability for loss or damage

You, the Driver, are liable for any loss or damage to the Customer’s property and goods, subject to satisfactory evidence that the damage or loss was caused by you and not by the Customer or a third party. Your liability is limited as follows:

  1. If you cause damage to goods or property not contracted for transport due to negligence or breach of contract, your liability is limited to the repair of the damaged area.
  2. You are not liable for damage arising from circumstances beyond your control, including natural events such as fire, flood or severe weather; terrorism, vandalism or unlawful activities; defects inherent in the goods; pre-existing damage to the delivery area; or other actions, omissions or circumstances beyond your reasonable control.
  3. You must notify us by email, live chat or telephone within 72 hours of delivery if you become aware of damage to the Customer’s goods or property caused during collection, transportation or delivery.

Changes and cancellations

Customers are entitled to alter or cancel their Bookings. In the event of a cancellation, we will notify you as promptly as possible and compensation will be provided in line with the platform’s cancellation policy. If a Customer modifies their Booking, the Job Sheet will be updated and you are expected to comply with the changes.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your access to our platform for violation of these terms and conditions, or if we determine your behaviour or performance to be unsatisfactory based on Customer feedback or our evaluation.

Agreement and agency relationship

By registering with I Need A Van Man, you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions. Non-compliance may result in penalties, including fines, restrictions on job access or termination of platform access.

Upon registering as a Driver, you expressly authorise I Need A Van Man to act on your behalf in line with our customer terms.

When a Customer enters into a Contract with I Need A Van Man, it is on the basis that I Need A Van Man acts as your agent for the purpose of procuring the Transport Services. I Need A Van Man is not responsible for providing the Transport Services and has no liability towards the Customer for them. I Need A Van Man is authorised by you to enter into this Contract with the Customer on your behalf and arrange the Transport Services as your agent. The Contract lays out the contractual terms between the Customer and you, the Driver. As remuneration for acting as your agent, I Need A Van Man retains the difference between the Price paid by the Customer and the price charged by you.

Accepting a particular Booking from a Customer, and the Customer supplying I Need A Van Man with their payment details, establishes a contract between the Customer, I Need A Van Man and you. This authorises us to confirm that the Customer has accepted the Instant Quote and that you will undertake the Transport Services for the agreed Price.
